Music Competition

Look around you. What do you see? We at Maximum Exposure Productions know that what is seen is only half the story. We are therefore seeking original musical compositions to complement our images and complete the picture for our international audience. If you are inspired by any aspect of the ‘Tracing Tea’ route and would like the chance to have your music featured in a documentary series for cable television, not to mention winning cash prizes and a professional commission for series 2, submit your work and help us reveal the sights and the sounds of ‘Tracing Tea’.

What next?

  1. Write a piece of your choice inspired by a place, culture or group of people along the ‘Tracing Tea’ route. It should be at least 30 seconds long but no more than 5 minutes. Use of instrumentation and/or style appropriate to your subject matter will receive particular credit. You should include with this piece a brief written synopsis (no more than one page of A4) of your work and the source(s) of your inspiration.
  2. Watch the short film clip attached to this page. You should write a piece to accompany the images that you are seeing. Pay close attention to the shot changes, pace and mood at each point of the film clip so that your music is as complementary as possible.
  3. Submit your compositions in the form of Sibelius files (or equivalent) to sophie@maximumexposureproductions.com . In the email you should include your name and contact details and declare that you have read the terms and conditions of the competition. If you are under 18 years of age a parent or guardian must make this declaration on your behalf.
